Our services are provided on a modified year-round basis, which runs for ten and a half months from the beginning of August to mid-June.  There are six weeks of summer "break" when our learners are expected to continue in their assigned online learning to prevent significant regression.​​​

Breakthrough Academy is a small, private day school for students with various disabilities and specializes in the application of theory, principles, and technology of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) using PEAK, ACT, TAGteaching, Precision Teaching, intervention, and social training.

We use the student's natural curiosity along with natural motivation strategies to foster learning.

Our students develop metacognition, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities in order to transition to the next level of education and, eventually...live independently.

Because of our speciality in social/emotional & trauma-based education as well as instruction in social cognition and executive functioning, we have been implementing the practices of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Relational Frame Theory (RFT) all along. However, we now use two ABA-based curricula to improve the efficacy of our instruction. We have added PEAK and will soon begin AIM in our efforts to make the most impact for our learners.
